February 1, 2009 by SAF Desk

South Asia forum is a think tank run by a trust named South Asia Forum, based in India. South Asia forum is not affiliated with any political or social group. Objective of the think tank is to build strategic, cultural and academic alliances in South Asia and Israel to promote Indian interest in these regions to ensure security and development of India. One of the main objectives of the forum is to educate people about Israel, Middle Eastern politics and its relevance in Indian context.

Few years ago world has been exposed to a new threat of extremism which has its root somewhere in Middle Eastern Politics and few radical Movements in this region which have come up in last 8 decades. This movement of extremism and hatred has eclipsed the whole world with its global network and its very ideology of extremism has not just confined itself to some specific boundaries but whenever it gets conducive atmosphere it strikes at its will.

South Asia region is also a victim of ideology of extremism and hatred and is more vulnerable to terrorism. Problem of terrorism in South Asia has always been studied in isolation .Extremism of this region was someway differentiated with extremism of Middle East but both are two faces of the same coin.

It is necessary for the people of South Asia in general and India in particular that they should know more and more about Middle Eastern politics and Israel. South Asia forum is devoted to the cause of educating people on the subject of Israel and Middle East with some thought provoking research and deep analysis on the subject which has not been touched so far. South Asia forum is also committed to raise the issues which have paramount importance for India in South Asian region.
