Jihadists using google earth

February 1, 2009 by SAF Desk

The head of Google Earth has hit back at those who claim that the free virtual mapping program is to blame for aiding and abetting recent acts of terrorism.

They come at a time when India is investigating the circumstances surrounding November’s deadly attack on Mumbai, amid a chorus of calls for access to the service to be restricted or banned entirely.

In December, a petition entered at the Mumbai High Court alleges that Google Earth “aids terrorists in plotting attacks” and asked that Google be directed to blur images of sensitive areas pending all full hearing.

The Jerusalem Post reported in December that a documentary called The Field of Death posted on the Hamas military wing’s website showed terrorists using Google Earth to plot a rocket attack on a fuel depot inside Israel last April that killed two men.

February 1, 2009 by SAF Desk

Looking at Canadian media coverage of Israel’s operation in Gaza, some fundamental Mideast realities were left out. One is that the majority of Israelis and probably the majority of Palestinians support a two-state solution. Hamas does not.

India’s destiny to tolerate blasts?

February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi

bomb-blastIt was another evening in national capital of India and people were engaged with their routine work from labor to officer. Some of them were planning to enjoy their weekend and some daily labors were working for their daily bread but none of them was aware to their destiny before five serial blasts took place in several dense markets as well as places in Delhi. It was another horrific story on 13th of September in national capital when Islamic terrorists challenged to Indian security and morale with their blasts. In this article Islamic terrorist word has been used because like three previous blasts Indian Mujahideen send an email to media personnel and claimed the responsibility of these blasts and warned for more attacks in Mumbai later this month. When first time Indian Mujahideen came in picture last year in November with claiming the responsibility of serial blasts in various courts of Uttar Pradesh none of the government agencies to security agencies taken them seriously but now this is fourth time when this newly formed Islamic organization with clear manifesto of Jihad has openly boasted about its capability to attack any place in country with forewarning. World really needs Daniel Pipes

February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi

daniel_pipesIt is always difficult to write a piece on any personality as it is always pregnant with some controversy whether your intentions are good or bad. I was also in this dilemma before writing this article as this is going to address a personality whom some body love to hate and somebody as myself is one of them term him as one of signatures of this era. Lot has been written about him in European and American press but still he is not hot topic is Asian press. He is an authority on Middle Eastern politics as well politics on Islam. He has been termed by his critics as Islamophobe for his views on radical Islam. His website is one of the busiest websites in English language with thousands of keywords and one of the best platform for discussions on radical Islam and other topics which are usually don’t come out in open because of political correctness. I hope these are enough indications to reach the destination which goes to Dr Daniel Pipes. Dr Daniel Pipes is going to enter in almost his sixties next week on 9th September with completion of 58 years of his glorious life. Read more

February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi

terrorismIn 20 years history of Islamic terrorism in India it was first time when two major cities of country were targeted in span of 24 hours. First, Indian IT city and the most renowned outsourcing place as identity of IT sector Bengaluru was targeted on 25th of July 2008 with eight serial blasts with low intensity killing one woman and injuring more than dozen people. Government of India as well as intelligence agencies with counter terrorist experts were busy in deciphering these blasts and before they could have reached to some conclusive results another string of blasts were waiting for them and this time Islamic terrorists targeted another economic hub and growing economic capital of Gujrat.
