Are we living in the era of Islamic censorship?
February 14, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
In last few months three important developments took place which were although directly not related with each other but they have some connection between them. First, just before Indian economic capital Mumbai was attacked by Islamic terroists on 26 November last year the largest Islamic body OIC approached the supreme law making body of the world UN with a resolution to make it compulsory for the countries of this world to declare vilification of prophet of any religion as illegal as well denouncing the efforts to use term Islamic terrorism in reference to terrorism.
Second, Government of Nederland decided to prosecute president of a political party of this small European state for hurting the sentiments of Muslims with his film “Fitna†based on some controversial ayats of Quran. After the decision of government of Nederland Geert Wilders decided to visit few European countries with message of his controversial film and United Kingdom was one of them. Geert Wilders was banned from UK government and was told to refrain himself from entering into the borders of Britian. Geert Wilders tried to defy the government orders but he was arrested at the airport and expelled from Britain. Geert called this development as a great set back to the freedom of expression. They will burn their fingers
February 9, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
They will burn their fingers this was first spontaneous reaction I found from an analyst having some academic stake in Middle Eastern affairs about the possibility of success for the mission of George Mitchell special envoy appointed for Middle East from newly elected American president. This reaction was very much in consonance with me as I don’t see much difference in situation after much hyped Mitchell mission is started.
Here I have picked the issue of Mitchell because new administration in America has promised some new initiatives and breakthrough in troubled regions Middle East along with South Asia has prominent place in them. Decision of appointment of George Mitchell as an envoy for Middle East was very much anticipated and the same thing was true with envoy of South Asian region Richard Holbrook. But million dollar question is still unanswered how much success they would have in their mission and above all what new they have in stock. Since oath of office of new administration in America Obamamania is gradually evaporated with some new ground realities and a wonderful orator has to deliver from his action rather than his glorious words. Being politically incorrect
February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
In India it is very unusual and abnormal to write anything in support of Israel because doing so is something portraying itself as politically incorrect. In present circumstances when Israel has waged a war against Hamas in Gaza strip and analysts along with political commentators are busy in writing big articles it is less important to be included in that list but few aspects of this problem has not been addressed so far.
Being a secular and liberal democracy India always has adopted a middle path in Arab-Israel struggle although it always preferred to be seen in favor of Arab camp but for a long time every effort were going on from out of government channels to keep Israel in good humor also. But it is really paradox for Indian democracy to follow the principle of political correctness and secularism in the context of every action of Israel against its hostile neighbors. Since birth of Israel India adopted the policy of condemnation of every act of self defense of this lone Jewish nation along with other Arab nations and European countries. Read more
Secular way of fighting terror
February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
Last Friday was an historic day for the politics of secularism in India when this lobby first time got ammunition in their hands to fire with to their adversaries. Was it some coincidence or some deliberate attempt that when share market was performing really poor and besides all the assurances from finance minister, Prime Minister and governor of RBI collapse of share market was beyond control. When small investors were in panic and people in India were all set to feel cursed at the holy festival of Diwali suddenly Maharashtra ATS came out with some startling revelations about the Malegaon blast which happened on 29th of September 2008 in Muslim dominated areas in the month of Ramazan. Maharashtra ATS also claimed that they have also cracked the conspiracy of Modasa blast in Gujrat which happened at the same date. Read more
India’s destiny to tolerate blasts?
February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
It was another evening in national capital of India and people were engaged with their routine work from labor to officer. Some of them were planning to enjoy their weekend and some daily labors were working for their daily bread but none of them was aware to their destiny before five serial blasts took place in several dense markets as well as places in Delhi. It was another horrific story on 13th of September in national capital when Islamic terrorists challenged to Indian security and morale with their blasts. In this article Islamic terrorist word has been used because like three previous blasts Indian Mujahideen send an email to media personnel and claimed the responsibility of these blasts and warned for more attacks in Mumbai later this month. When first time Indian Mujahideen came in picture last year in November with claiming the responsibility of serial blasts in various courts of Uttar Pradesh none of the government agencies to security agencies taken them seriously but now this is fourth time when this newly formed Islamic organization with clear manifesto of Jihad has openly boasted about its capability to attack any place in country with forewarning. World really needs Daniel Pipes
February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
It is always difficult to write a piece on any personality as it is always pregnant with some controversy whether your intentions are good or bad. I was also in this dilemma before writing this article as this is going to address a personality whom some body love to hate and somebody as myself is one of them term him as one of signatures of this era. Lot has been written about him in European and American press but still he is not hot topic is Asian press. He is an authority on Middle Eastern politics as well politics on Islam. He has been termed by his critics as Islamophobe for his views on radical Islam. His website is one of the busiest websites in English language with thousands of keywords and one of the best platform for discussions on radical Islam and other topics which are usually don’t come out in open because of political correctness. I hope these are enough indications to reach the destination which goes to Dr Daniel Pipes. Dr Daniel Pipes is going to enter in almost his sixties next week on 9th September with completion of 58 years of his glorious life. Read more
India is at war but who cares
February 1, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
In 20 years history of Islamic terrorism in India it was first time when two major cities of country were targeted in span of 24 hours. First, Indian IT city and the most renowned outsourcing place as identity of IT sector Bengaluru was targeted on 25th of July 2008 with eight serial blasts with low intensity killing one woman and injuring more than dozen people. Government of India as well as intelligence agencies with counter terrorist experts were busy in deciphering these blasts and before they could have reached to some conclusive results another string of blasts were waiting for them and this time Islamic terrorists targeted another economic hub and growing economic capital of Gujrat. Unlike Bengaluru here blasts were intended to kill more people with a shift in terrorist strategy. Blasts in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad had some similarities as both were serial blasts and in both of these places low intensity bombs were used indicating that they were home made explosives with no more high quality explosives as RDX etc. Read more

January 31, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
Since Islamist attack on Mumbai on 26th of November last year the issue of war on terror has again come on centre stage. This attack was different in some way as it attracted the attention of world media more than ever. But still attack on India is a war against India which India has to fight on its own. Few days back editor of Hindi news portal lokmanch conducted an on line interview with known commentator on Middle East politics as well as Islamic politics Dr. Daniel Pipes. Interviewer Amitabh Tripathi asked several questions to Dr. Pipes which readers in India have in mind on the issue of Islamist terrorism and its connection with traditional Islam. Read more
Message Behind Jaipur Blast
January 31, 2009 by Amitabh Tripathi
On 13th of May when a beautiful and comparatively peaceful city nicknamed Pink city became latest target of terrorists it was no secret to anybody who are perpetrators. Within hours statements from Government of India came out blaming openly to foreign hands. This time niddle of suspicion was not only confined to notorious Pakistani agency ISI but another jihadi Islamist organization from Bangladesh was also under scanner. This organization has its strong base in Bangladesh and this jihadi organization is none other than HUJI. This reaction was very mechanical and there was nothing new in it. We have seen from last three years that after every terrorist attack Government has the same reaction that we will fight to this menace, it is an attempt to disturb communal harmony, we will not bow down to terrorist and it is an act by enemy of our nation . But government of India has not openly declared who are those enemies and what strategy they have to fight against them. Government is not going to answer these questions because our policy against terrorism has several lapses. First of all government is not going to declare the enemy and don’t have any resolve to fight against this enemy. Read more
